Leg Pain Doctor:

Don’t let leg pain get in the way of your holiday fun this year like the last. Come in today and get the treatment you need to get your leg health back. Let our leg pain doctor diagnose the cause of your leg pain.

Varicose vein disease is a common and often unnoticed cause of leg pain. Varicose veins may be overlooked as a cause of leg pain because not all varicose veins bulge on the surface. Some are pretty much invisible and located deeper in the leg.

Leaking varicose veins cause blood to pool and waste products to accumulate in the leg. Due to the buildup of pressure and toxins in the leg a person with vein problems can experience leg aching, heaviness and fatigue of the leg, which typically worsens as the day progresses. Symptoms worsen with sitting or standing and may intensify during menstrual cycles or when exposed to heat. Elevating your legs or applying compression stockings usually improves the leg aching, although only temporarily. Unfortunately, in certain individuals with severe vein leakage, a condition called chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) can develop. With (CVI) swelling can become more pronounced and skin discoloration or even leg ulcerations can occur.

Again, not all varicose veins bulge or rise above the surface of the skin. Many varicose veins are internal. In most cases these hidden internal veins can cause just as many problems as superficial, bulging varicose veins. You can develop outright leg ulcerations, without showing a single, visible varicose vein. If you are experiencing leg aching, swelling or fatigue, especially if it is worse with standing or sitting, you deserve to be evaluated for vein disease here at the Alpha Vein Clinic Las Vegas.

Leg Veins:

Varicose veins and spider veins are caused when the valves of the veins are weakened. Veins, which work against gravity as they carry blood back to the heart, contain one-way valves to prevent the blood from flowing backwards. When the valves weaken, blood collects in the vein. Pooled blood enlarges the vein. This increased pressure in the venous system leads initially to spider veins and subsequently varicose veins. The plasma from this blood pooling exudes out of the veins into the surrounding tissues making the skin look darker, ultimately leading to the formation of painful  ulcers. Age, weight, genetics, lack of movement standing or sitting for long periods of time,, pregnancy and a history of (DVT) are all well-known causes of vein disease.
